Hook

This last time I visited Elva in her studio I finally had my excuse to purchase one of her paintings: A very moving image of swampy cedar trees astride a lake-side clearing. In happier days, Dad would have frequented such a spot when he walked his beloved Sacha. Mere hours before the painting’s delivery I found out that Leclair, the Moosonee puppy with my dad’s namesake, may find his way back to me, if only as a foster dog. Hopefully Nim will show him his own path through the woods, a memory he’ll take with him to his forever home.
